Wightman Chapel Perfect Venue for
Concert of Holiday A Cappella Music

November 19, 2008 (NASHVILLE) - The Music City Community Chorus offers the public a free concert of holiday choral music Tuesday evening, December 9 at 7:30 pm at the Scarritt-Bennett Wightman Chapel, Nashville, Tennessee. The chorus will perform A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten, and Four Motets for the Season of Christmas by Francis Poulenc, directed by vocal coach and conductor Renee Grant-Williams. The program also includes music of pre-Renaissance composer Guillaume Dufay and Tomas Luis de Victoria, renowned Spanish Renaissance composer.

Music City Community Chorus Announces February 5 Concert

January 14, 2008 (NASHVILLE) - The Music City Community Chorus presents BACH 2 BACH a free concert of chorus music by Johann Sebastian Bach and Carl Philippe Emanuel Bach, on Tuesday evening, February 5 at 7:30 pm at Belmont United Methodist Church, 2007 Acklen Avenue in Nashville Tennessee.

For this current season’s Music City Community Chorus outing, conductor Renee Grant-Williams has chosen to present the Magnificat, one of the most important vocal works composed by J.S.Bach. During the latter half of the program they will perform the rarely heard Magnificat written by his son C.P.E. Bach. The chorus will be accompanied throughout by the Excelsior Chamber Orchestra.

August 21, 2007 (Nashville)—The Music City Community Chorus announces auditions for its Fall Season. MC3 is a non-profit, broad-based, volunteer performing chorus in Nashville. As the group’s director, Renee Grant-Williams’ continuing goal for the chorus is to give both professional and non-professional singers in Nashville a chance to participate in a community musical experience, building a bridge between the various genres of music that flourish within Nashville’s music community.
